Community fundraisers can make a difference.
We are proud to work with individuals, organizations and corporations who choose to support Hospitality House of Charlotte by hosting their own fundraising events. This is a fun and rewarding way to make an impact on families in medical crisis while introducing your community to our mission.

Fundraising Ideas
Do you need inspiration for your fundraising event? See below for some ideas for all groups and ages.
Lemonade Stand or Bake Sale
Bake your favorite treats or mix up some refreshing lemonade to sell at your school or in your neighborhood. These are fun ways for kids to give back! Let your customers know their money is going to a great cause.
Car Wash
Have your friends bring buckets, sponges, and soap from home or ask your local auto or hardware store to donate supplies. Schools, churches and community centers with hose access and street front property are ideal venues.
Raffle or Silent Auction
Ask local retailers, restaurants, gyms, and nationwide corporations for in-kind donations. Network with friends, coworkers, or faculty to see who has useful contacts – it’s always easier to get donations from someone who knows someone!
Sporting Event
Coordinate with a university athletic services department to have a portion of a game’s ticket proceeds benefit HHOC. Half-time during any game is a great time to have a spokesperson get on the loudspeaker to tell the crowd about the mission.
Tournaments
Raise money while you play by holding a golf, pickle ball, or other tournament at a local venue. Ask local businesses to sponsor holes and donate prizes.
Restaurant Contributions
Ask your favorite restaurants or bars to donate a portion of their proceeds on a specific day, week, or month. Invite all your social networks to enjoy a meal while making an impact on HHOC!
Dress Down Day
Plan a day at the office when your employees can make a donation in exchange for wearing casual clothes or dressing in a theme. This makes for a great team bonding experience!
Donations in Lieu of Gifts
Consider asking friends and family to make a donation instead of giving gifts for your birthday, wedding, or other special event.
Fundraising Guidelines
When money is raised on HHOC’s behalf, and HHOC’s materials are used in conjunction with any solicitation, the information noted below must be disclosed at the point of solicitation, in keeping with the Better Business Bureau’s guidelines for charity organizations:
Actual or anticipated portion of the purchase price benefiting the charity, the duration of the campaign, and any maximum or guaranteed minimum contribution amount.
For example: “10% will be contributed for every product sold during the month of November up to a maximum of $10,000.”
