By dedicating time and energy to this essential task, volunteers contribute directly to creating a clean, welcoming, and comforting environment that guests rely on during challenging times. This 90-minute opportunity is great for small teams or individuals. This opportunity is also available for court-ordered community service hours.

HHOC partners with Hope Haven to provide fresh linens every morning. Volunteers ensure that linens are sorted and ready for housekeeping staff to put them onto beds. This 90-minute to two-hour opportunity allows individuals to play a crucial part in House operations. Volunteers are responsible for sorting, folding, and organizing clean linens. This activity requires volunteers to be on their feet for the duration of their shift. Volunteers should also be able to lift up to 10 pounds.
Description: Individuals or groups are able to sign up for shifts. During this time, volunteers will assist staff in organizing and folding clean linens while overseeing quality control.
Group size: 1 to 8 volunteers
Age restrictions: Volunteers of all ages are welcome, but individuals under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Approximate time: 90-minutes to two-hours.
Guidelines:
- Dress comfortably.
- Prepare to be on your feet for the duration of your shift.
Court-Ordered Community Service Opportunity
Hospitality House of Charlotte offers a specialized opportunity for individuals in need of court ordered community service hours.
Court Ordered Community Service Details: The Clean Linen Crew program offers a two-hour opportunity where volunteers assist in organizing and folding clean linens. These linens are essential for housekeeping staff to promptly prepare beds. Volunteers are required to remain on their feet throughout the shift and handle large bags of linens. Upon arrival, volunteers sign in using our computer system. Our Community Engagement Coordinator will provide necessary verification when needed.
Age restrictions: Volunteers must be 18 years of age.
Approximate time: Two-hours.
